Thousands of executives have met at DES2019, which opened yesterday, to boost the digitization of their companies, and learn about the latest innovations from leading global firms such as IBM, Telefónica, Altran, Deloitte Digital, EY, T-Systems, Globant, KPMG, Santander, Nutanix, Seidor or Improove, among more than 300 exhibiting companies present at the event.

During the official opening the Government of Spain, the European Commission, the Comunidad de Madrid and the Madrid City Council have shown their recognition and resounding support to DES as a driver of the digital transformation and knowledge forum that places Madrid and Spain at the international frontline of the great technological events.

Francisco Polo, Secretary of State for the Digital Agenda of the Economy and Enterprise Ministry, highlighted the important contribution of DES to the digital transformation of companies as a connecting link between innovators, investors and companies, and is going to offer support from the government of Spain for events like this within the National Spanish Entrepreneurial Strategic Plan, with which the Government will define the digital agenda for the next decade. The results of implementing Industry 4.0 in the manufacturing sector were presented by Henrik von Scheel, one of the creators of the Industry 4.0 concept for the German government, in «Industry 4.0 – The future of Growth and Productivity».

More than 5,000 SMEs have come to DES2019 to learn how leading companies can help them apply transformative technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data or Cloud to their businesses. They have had a complete presentations agenda at the Digital SME Space by Santander. It includes from inspiring presentations to practical cases and success stories.
